Here is a complete four-volume set of the German Brockhaus Handbuch des Wissens, published by F. A. Brockhaus in Leipzig in 1926. Written entirely in German, the complete set includes volumes A–E, F–K, L–R and S–Z and represents the sixth, extensively revised and enlarged edition of Brockhaus’ reference work.
Each substantial volume is bound in warm rust-brown cloth with green and gilt spine labels, gilt lettering and coordinating colored page edges. The color combination is fantastic. The interiors contain thousands of illustrations and maps along with numerous plates, charts and reference material, all printed in German.
Now approximately 100 years old, the books have a wonderfully timeworn appearance and make an especially handsome decorative library or bookshelf set while retaining their interest as early 20th-century German reference works.
Measurements are for entire set. Each book is roughly 2.25-2.5" thick.
