Hand thrown on a potters wheel - its ridged front is … Read more Substantially large 1980's stoneware pottery charger. - 21" diameter. Hand thrown on a potters wheel - its ridged front is decorated with an abstract trout skeleton pattern. Created by laying a glaze covered "catch" atop while still wet. Deep olive green pattern over off-white and beige specked ground. Incised artist's signature on bottom. Includes perforated openings on reverse rim to attach wall hanger.

Measures 21" diameter x 3.5" high

In very good vintage condition. Structurally sound with no cracks, chips, missing glaze or issues of note. There is a black underglaze mark on the lower right edge which appears to be but is NOT a chip. Some light "crazing" to glazed surface. See photos for details.

Ken Edwards (1948 - 2013) had a natural ability to mold clay into amazing works of art. While studying at the University of Puget Sound - he traveled to Japan. Where he met their national treasure - ceramicist Hamada. Embracing his zen philosophy of the craft.

For over thirty years Ken was considered one of Montana’s best. Respected and admired for his artistry, technical skills, and expertise. Today his work is rare and held in high regard.
