Below the top, a panelled frieze is accented with an elegant, hand-carved rosette. The piece offers ample display space with three height-adjustable shelves, each finished with a hardwood moulded edge, all flanked by two moulded pilasters adorned with carved motifs at the capital, all resting on a sturdy, moulded plinth base.

acquired in very good condition with only a few minor historic repairs, this piece has been very well looked after  overthe years. The bookcase retains its original french polish which has carefully cleaned and waxed, showcasing a gorgeous, mellow colour and a soft patina. Solid sturdy, and woodworm-free, this timeless bookcase is ready to be placed at home. C1880
