Elegant set of three nesting tables produced by Kristensen & Thomassen, Denmark, dating from the 1960s.
The set is executed in warm teak and features three graduated rectangular tables that slide neatly underneath one another when not in use. The restrained construction, slim legs and subtly rounded tabletop edges give the set a light and refined Scandinavian appearance.
The teak displays an attractive, even grain throughout, while the simple geometric frames highlight the functional character of classic Danish modern design. The tables can be used together as a stepped arrangement or separately as side tables.
The underside is marked “Made in Denmark” and KTH 122, identifying the set as Model 122. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
