The substantial gold-finished frame is richly decorated throughout with scrolling acanthus leaves, floral rosettes, foliate motifs and dimensional architectural detailing. At the top, sweeping scrollwork surrounds a central shield-form cartouche depicting a reclining lion, creating a wonderful heraldic quality.

Measuring an impressive 52 inches tall by 34 inches wide, this is a substantial, heavy statement piece rather than a small decorative wall mirror. The generous beveled mirror is surrounded by a deeply detailed frame that gives the piece considerable visual presence.
