The figure retains traces of a historic polychrome surface with naturally aged patina, wear and losses. The reverse preserves original structural and workshop characteristics of the carving. The separately carved hands are lacking, consistent with the vulnerable nature of projecting elements in historical wooden devotional sculpture. An imposing and highly expressive example of European ecclesiastical woodcarving, notable for its large scale, deeply carved drapery and finely modelled facial features.

The sculpture weighs approximately 19.1 kg, reflecting the substantial scale and density of the carved wooden figure. See less
