Vintage Maitland-Smith LTD. ginger-jar table lamp, handmade in Hong Kong. The porcelain/ceramic body features hand-painted pink, mauve and burgundy flowers, dragonflies, butterflies and green foliage against a soft white ground. A carved dark-brown wood base, brass-tone hardware and white/ivory pleated shade complete its elegant Asian Traditional / Chinoiserie / Hollywood Regency look. Approx. 33"H x 7"W x 9.5"D.
Maker’s label underneath reads “Designed and Handmade in Hong Kong by Maitland-Smith LTD.” with Maitland-Smith mark on switch. Likely late 20th century, circa 1970s–1980s. UL listed; accepts Type-A bulb up to 150W. Very good vintage condition with minor age-related wear; see photos.
A beautifully detailed Maitland-Smith statement lamp offering timeless Chinoiserie character and designer appeal.
