An exceptional Italian Postmodern dining, gaming and cocktail table attributed to Pierluigi Molinari for Pozzi, circa 1980s. Finished in dramatic high-gloss black lacquer, the table features a square top with softly rounded corners supported by four substantial cylindrical legs.
A removable circular center insert reverses from a polished black lacquer surface to a felt-covered playing surface, allowing the table to transition effortlessly from dining to cards, poker or other games. Each of the four cylindrical legs opens individually to reveal cleverly concealed fitted storage for bottles, glasses, refreshments and gaming accessories.
A sophisticated example of multifunctional Italian design, the table combines bold architectural form with ingenious entertaining features. Its sleek monochromatic finish would complement a Postmodern, contemporary or Hollywood Regency interior.
Attributed to Pierluigi Molinari for Pozzi; no maker’s label has been located. Presented in vintage condition with age-appropriate wear to the lacquered finish.
