Measuring 13 inches wide, the piece has the presence of a small estate sculpture rather than a conventional animal figurine. Its elongated profile follows the gentle sweep of the sheep’s back toward its lowered head, capturing a quiet pastoral moment with an appealing sense of natural movement.

The deeply modeled fleece is the defining feature. Irregular curls, ridges and smoother passages create a richly tactile surface, while the slender legs, cloven hooves, projecting ears and sensitively shaped face bring refinement to the substantial woolly form.
