The classical amphora-form vessel features a gently elongated ovoid body, dramatically flared rim, finely delineated rings at the shoulder, and a spreading circular foot. A pair of distinctive stylized swan-neck handles flank the body—an especially characteristic motif of French decorative arts during the Consulat, Empire, and early Restoration periods.

The bronze retains a wonderfully deep, naturally developed brown-black patina with warm reddish undertones, along with subtle areas of verdigris concentrated around the handle attachments and construction joints. These variations give the surface considerable depth and are consistent with the object's age and copper-alloy construction.

The interior and underside reveal the vessel's traditional assembled construction, including the separately attached handles and original bottom/foot assembly. An old handwritten inventory or collection notation remains visible beneath the base.

At approximately 8.25 inches high, the vase has an elegant architectural presence despite its relatively intimate scale. Particularly handsome displayed alone on a mantel, console, library shelf, or incorporated into a collected grouping of European antiques.
