Vintage English terrestrial desk globe by Geographia Ltd., London, featuring an 8-inch lithographed globe mounted in a patinated brass half-meridian on a compact turned wood base retaining its rich oxblood-red finish.
The original cartouche reads “GEOGRAPHIA – 8 INCH TERRESTRIAL GLOBE – GEOGRAPHIA LTD – 167 FLEET STR., LONDON E.C.4.” Detailed period cartography includes political boundaries, railways, ocean currents and historic steamship routes.
Beautifully aged throughout, with warm muted colors and a wonderfully timeworn surface. Its unusually compact 12.5-inch overall height makes it particularly attractive for a bookshelf, desk or collected library interior.

The lithographed surface shows overall toning, fading, scuffs, scratches and scattered losses. There is separation and wear along portions of the equatorial seam, as well as a small hole through the globe near the Pacific/San Francisco area, as clearly shown in the photographs. The turned wood base shows scratches and finish loss, and the metal components have age-related patina. Structurally stable and displays beautifully.
