The composition dissolves the forest into an all-over mosaic of yellow, orange, rust, olive and cream, with dark trunks cutting across the surface and a low stone wall glimpsed through the trees. There is no key block and no drawn outline — the image is built entirely from overlapping areas of color, one block per hue, which gives it a soft, almost abstract shimmer.

Hand-pulled in the Japanese manner using water-based pigment: the color has sunk into the paper fibers instead of sitting on the surface as a film, the hues bleed softly where they meet, and the edge of the printed area is an irregular hand-inked boundary. The sheet is a lightly toned laid paper.

Inscribed in pencil below the image: "Indian Summer" with the edition notation, and signed Muriel Aleita Berg. From an edition of 25.
