This French-made, cubic-shaped mechanical coffee grinder, signed Peugeot Frères, features a chrome-plated steel body with beveled edges (vertical facets) resting on a wooden base. The light wood (beech) grounds drawer has a large, dark-colored, hand-turned knob—a characteristic detail of original Peugeot manufacture (as opposed to copies with perfectly round, molded knobs).

The top houses the exposed grinding mechanism: a domed chrome cover with a hinged bean loading hatch, surmounted by a double-angled crank with a turned wooden handle in the shape of a ball. The mechanism's shaft bears a partially legible stamped inscription ("Peugeot Frères").

The use of chrome-plated steel throughout the body (rather than the solid wood seen on older models from the 1920s and 1930s) and the shape of the crank suggest a 1940s-1950s date, a period when Peugeot modernized the range with more stylish metal finishes while retaining the classic forged steel grinding mechanism.
