a stunning pair of murano glass vases, entirely handmade and signed by the c. Zeta murano factory, with an adhesive label on both vases and a paper label from the artistic glassworks, as shown in the photos. This refined pair of matching blown glass vases represents an excellent example of 20th-century artistic craftsmanship, crafted by the historic venetian factory zeta murano (operating under the c. Zeta brand). This attribution is unequivocally documented by the period adhesive labels on both vases and the original paper label from the furnace accompanying the two pieces, certifying their origin and their entirely handmade production on the island of murano. Structurally, the pair comprises two elements with different yet complementary morphologies: a vase with a double lateral "ear" handle and a second vase embellished with geometric ribbing applied along the body in the shape of flames or waves. Both share a flared neck surrounded by a series of spiraling dark glass threads and a solid, disc-shaped base in polished dark glass. The extraordinary aesthetic impact of this pair lies in the use of the glass scavo technique. This process involves coating the main body of aquamarine glass, still incandescent on the blowpipe at approximately 800°c, with a powdery mixture of chemical salts, carbonates, and metal oxides. The thermal reaction generates a controlled surface corrosion that dulls the piece, creating a rough, chalky texture. The subsequent hot decorative applications, modeled with pincers by the master glassmaker, create a fascinating textural contrast between the archaic appearance of the vase's body and the clear, glossy finish of the dark details, perfectly blending venetian glassmaking tradition with archaeological inspiration.
