The oak is solid European timber left in its natural finish, its honey-to-amber tone and open grain warm to the touch and warmer still in a room. It is the most tactile material in the range, a solid oak surface that ages and settles over time. The timber is European oak, dense enough to carry the interlocking construction without reinforcement and open enough in grain to keep its warmth. It takes the marks of use and settles into them rather than resisting them.

The construction is left in plain sight. Two solid oak boards interlock at right angles, one passing through the other into a self-supporting cross-leg base, the joinery treated as the only ornament the piece needs.

Low in its demands and clear in its intent, the solid oak side table sits beside a sofa or a favourite chair without asking for attention.
