Measuring an impressive 54 cm wide, the tray is distinguished by its restrained, timeless design and notably fine craftsmanship. The beautifully figured oak surface is assembled from individual solid-wood boards and surrounded by a raised, gently shaped gallery. Two elongated hand-cut openings are seamlessly incorporated into the curved side panels, providing comfortable and secure handles. Traditional joinery, carefully finished edges and the substantial wooden construction demonstrate the high level of craftsmanship. The warm, naturally aged oak displays a rich grain and an attractive patina developed over approximately a century. As expected with solid antique wood, the tray shows normal age-related movement and visible joints between the individual boards. These natural separations are characteristic of historic solid-wood construction and do not detract from its stability or decorative appeal. with its unusually generous proportions, the tray is ideal for serving drinks, presenting decorative objects or creating an elegant arrangement on a large dining table, ottoman or console.
