Measuring an impressive 100 inches wide, the sofa has a long, architectural silhouette with a low profile, softly rounded upholstered frame, continuous bench seat and loose back and side cushions. The restrained geometry and generous proportions are characteristic of the sophisticated Italian modern and postmodern furniture produced by B&B Italia during the 1980s.

The sofa retains its vintage striped silk upholstery, complemented by lighter silk cushions with a subtle woven geometric pattern. Particularly useful for a designer or collector planning restoration, the upholstery is secured with Velcro and can be removed, allowing the piece to be professionally cleaned or reupholstered while retaining the underlying form.

A surviving label records a delivery date of March 6, 1985 (03/06/85), providing an unusually precise period reference.

At 100 inches wide, the Ottomama has the scale and presence of a true statement sofa and would work especially well in a large living room, loft, library, hotel lounge or hospitality project. Condition: Vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. The existing silk upholstery shows staining, surface wear and several areas of damage, including a couple of rips/tears, as documented in the photographs. The removable upholstery is Velcro-secured and may be removed for professional cleaning or reupholstery. We recommend reupholstery for a pristine installation.
