This exceptional example of Art Deco design originates from the peak period of Chinese weaving, showcasing the sophisticated blending of traditional Eastern motifs with Western aesthetic sensibilities found in the finest antique rugs.

The composition is defined by a striking contrast between the deep, saturated teal background and the expansive oval field rendered in a velvety coral color. This specific hue, often associated with the luxurious palettes of the 1920s, provides a warm, inviting foundation for the intricate botanical detailing.

A lush, meandering vine system frames the central field, bursting with stylized blossoms, including peonies and trailing wisteria. This dynamic arrangement is characteristic of the period's departure from rigid symmetry, favoring naturalistic and abundant floral rugs that spill gracefully across the contrasting planes.

Woven in high-quality wool, the pile remains plush and luminous, emphasizing the depth of the hand-knotted texture. Given its impressive scale, this piece is classified as a room size rug, designed to anchor a major living space and serve as a singular statement of sophisticated Art Deco elegance. See less
