Signed postmodern ceramic crescent vase by McRon, dated 1984. The crescent, or C-form, opens into a full circle broken at the lower right, with a rectangular mouth set into the upper curve. Soft celadon glaze with hand-applied gold luster following every cut edge — the mouth, the crescent opening, and both terminals.
18"W x 6"D x 20"H
Opening 6" x 4" — stems drop nearly to the base, so it holds tall arrangements
Marked: impressed McRon © 84 on the base, with a separately hand-incised "LP" on the underside.Large for the form. Most examples of this crescent type run 10 to 14 inches; at 20 inches this is a floor-adjacent or console-scale piece rather than a tabletop object.
McRon is a documented American studio maker with dealer representation — a later McRon postmodern vase, dated 1994, is currently offered by a St. Louis dealer on 1stDibs. The impressed mark with copyright symbol and year is a studio convention rather than factory production.
