Description:
Presenting a magnificent and highly decorative vintage Chinese hardwood bird cage. Crafted from dense, richly grained Huali Rosewood with a beautiful, warm reddish-brown patina, this cage is exquisitely constructed in a rare hexagonal form with fine vertical bars.

The cage features an ornate cast bronze hook and top plate. The top plate is beautifully embellished with vibrant green gemstone (or jade) inlays and metal decorative studs. The hexagonal base is fitted with a removable tray for cleaning, secured by a brass lock. Inside, it retains two original, hand-painted porcelain bird feeders (yellow ground with blue floral motifs).

Condition: Excellent condition. The wood is solid and sturdy with a beautiful natural patina. The delicate cage bars are fully intact and well-preserved. All gemstone inlays and the bronze hook are present and secure. The removable tray functions smoothly. Minor surface wear and slight oxidation to the metal hardware, consistent with age and use.
