No maker’s mark. The inscription reads as follows:

"Anno 1219 — June 15th
During King Valdemar's crusade in Estonia, when the Danes were almost defeated, they called on God for help. They received, as a token of grace, a flag which dropped down from the sky, with a white cross on a red ground, and a voice was heard to say: ‘When this flag is raised on high, ye will assuredly overcome your foes.’”

This is the legend of the Dannebrog—the origin story of the Danish flag, said to have fallen from the sky during the Battle of Lyndanisse (also called the Battle of Valdemar) on June 15, 1219, turning the tide for King Valdemar II's forces against the Estonians. It's one of Denmark's most famous national legends, and the Dannebrog is traditionally considered the oldest continuously used national flag in the world.
