This beautiful rectangular lidded chest is a modern reproduction of a traditional Chinese hardwood storage box. The entire surface is richly decorated with deep relief and openwork pierced carving of scrolling floral vine patterns, a classic motif symbolizing prosperity and longevity.
It comes fitted with vintage-style brass front latch and side carrying handles. Originally designed as a scent chest, it can be used as jewelry box, keepsake chest, trinket storage, document box or decorative accent. The warm honey-brown aged patina finish highlights the elaborate hand carving across lid and all four sides.
A stunning statement Chinoiserie decor piece for vanity, console table, bookcase, dresser or display cabinet. Ideal for traditional, maximalist, transitional and Asian-inspired interiors.
