Found in stunning original condition this set features red-toned full grain leather upholstery replete with the perfect amount of patina of something once utilized and loved. Featuring the ability to recline and swivel 360 degrees, via a clever mechanism Doerner himself designed and held the patent for, these swivel chairs are as comfortable and versatile as they are visually alluring and captivating.

Frank Doerner is often cited as a mid-century modern designer, but he's also well known in the furniture world as the patent holder and manufacturer of high-quality tilting and swiveling base mechanisms. Based in Canada, his stamp ("Frank Doerner Canada") is famously found on the hardware of numerous iconic 1960s and 1970s "Eames-style" lounge chairs and executive office chairs. Doerner also designed and manufactured sleek, corporate modern executive office chairs in partnership with Northfield Metal Products of Waterloo, Ontario. These featured molded plywood shells, tufted leather, and cast aluminum swivel bases which are on full display with this splendid set.

John Stuart Inc. was a prominent mid-century American high-end retail furniture company, distributor, and manufacturer. Founded in 1934 by John L.
