The "Nikko" bedside table, designed by Yngvar Sandström for the Triva series by NK Verkstäder in the 1960s, stands out for its highly graphic and almost sculptural design, far removed from conventional bedside table structures. The oak frame alternates a solid teak side panel with an open side, connected by a single crosspiece, creating an original asymmetrical balance between solids and voids. The recessed teak top, defined by raised edges like a tray, completes a design in which each element has a distinct formal as well as functional value.
