Designed by Bertil Fridhagen for Bodafors in the 1960s, this oak bookcase reflects the essential design language developed by the Swedish designer during his long collaboration with the manufacturer. The open vertical structure is punctuated by shelves that can be adjusted in height thanks to rows of holes arranged along the side uprights. The lower section features two side-by-side drawers with shaped wooden handles, their interiors featuring a contrasting green finish, and is supported by four straight legs. Fridhagen, who worked for Bodafors for several decades, developed numerous pieces of furniture characterized by functionality, clear construction, and the use of wood—principles that are also evident in the slender proportions and understated elegance of this bookcase.
