The back rail is carried on three hand-cut scrolled uprights, and the apron under the seat is scalloped by hand. The seat itself is a single wide plank, gently hollowed by generations of use. One unusual feature: the back sits at the centre of the seat, so you can sit on either side of it. The patina is original and deep, never stripped or revarnished. Seat height 49 cm / 19.3 in.
