The stools feature heavy cast-iron bases marked SINGER, combined with solid wooden seats. The seats are made from oak and walnut and show attractive differences in colour and patina. One of the seats was replaced at some point and is made from mahogany.

Each stool is height adjustable by means of the large threaded screw mechanism. A small locking screw on the side allows the desired height to be secured. The distinctive four-foot cast-iron bases give the stools a strong industrial appearance and provide good stability.

Originally designed as practical workshop or factory seating, these stools have acquired a beautiful patina through decades of use. The wooden seats show scratches, marks, colour variations and other traces of their working life, while the cast iron retains an attractive dark aged finish.

Finding six matching Singer bases together makes this a particularly interesting set. They work beautifully around a high table or kitchen island, but would also make striking seating in a restaurant, bar, shop or other commercial interior.

The stools are sold exclusively as a set of six.
