19th century Danish chest of four drawers, crafted in pine with a warm waxed finish that enhances the natural color … Read more 19th century Danish chest of four drawers, crafted in pine with a warm waxed finish that enhances the natural color and aged patina of the wood. The lower three drawers sit slightly inset within the case, while the upper drawer projects forward slightly, giving the chest subtle architectural dimension.
Fluted details flank the lower three drawers and add restrained decorative character to the otherwise simple Scandinavian form. All four drawers function and provide useful storage. Traditional bun feet support the chest. Old scratches, nicks, dings, and other signs of age are visible along the top. The front bun feet show residual signs of old wormhole activity that are dry and inactive. The right front foot has a missing section that does not impact function. Additional minor age related wear and cracks are visible throughout, including a crack in the decorative area to the upper right of the top drawer.
Restored, stable, and ready to use.
