Pair of cast brass candlesticks in the French Restauration / Louis-Philippe manner, circa 1820-1860. Each with a hexagonal stepped base, faceted tapering column rising to a bulbous knop, turned and ringed stem, and plain cylindrical socket with flared rim. Constructed in threaded sections. Unmarked.
Warm, uncleaned patina throughout, left as found. Sockets show wear consistent with age; one has minor denting and a slightly misshapen rim. Scattered nicks and small dings to the base edges. Sold as a pair.
Purchased in Arles, France.
