It features a removable wooden serving tray lined with a dark, tightly woven rattan surface, matching handles on each end, and a separate, foldable "X-frame" bamboo-style wooden stand. It is made from hardwood on the tray and legs - possibly oak or mahogany. The trim around the tray appears to be genuine hand carved bamboo. It is in great condition and is very sturdy without damage and wear and tear that exists is consistent with age. All it may need depending on your preference is a little TLC but nothing is required - it’s looks great as is. I inherited this piece from an aunt so I do not know anything about its origin. The same piece sold on an online auction for $1500, which I have attached for market value purposes - that picture is not of the item here but it’s the same in appearance. This buyer’s tray has been used as a side table in varying rooms from living rooms to bedrooms and and is a multifunctional accent piece. The tray can be lifted off to serve guests, while the lower base folds completely flat for compact storage. Aesthetically, it is rooted in classic 19th-century British Campaign and West Indies tropical furniture design, making it highly collectible for traditional, coastal, or eclectic interiors. With the tray on, approximate measurements are - height (excluding handles) 24.5 inches, width 24 inches, depth is 28 inches. Each handles is approximately 1.75inches in height at highest point and width is approximately 4 inches from the outside of the handles (interior of handle about 3.25 inches at largest width point).
