the upper door tilts down and rests on two wooden pulls to create the writing surface. The writing surface is lined in brown leather. It offers ample storage, including niches and drawers. The lock is functional, and the key serves as the handle.
at the bottom of the chest, which has a serpentine shape, the front features inverted reliefs. It has two large storage drawers, each equipped with an attractive decorative keyhole escutcheon and two large gilt-bronze handles adorned with floral scrolls and shells.
the legs are curved in the louis xv style, with carved leaf and scroll motifs in the rococo style, as is the lower frieze, which is also decorated with scrolls and shells.

the sides and back of the piece are made of simple, solid cherry wood.
