Its distinctly 1950s composition shows a glamorous figure skater posed in front of an oversized American stars-and-stripes shield. Produced for the U.S.A. Performing Arts Program , the poster announces the international Holiday on Ice performances running from 1 to 20 July 1958 . The strong red, white and blue palette and period typography make it an attractive example of Belgian mid-century advertising. It is also an interesting piece of Expo 58 memorabilia for collectors of vintage posters, graphic design and ice-skating history.
