The poster announces a special programme created for Expo 58 , held at Place Eugène Flagey in Ixelles, Brussels , starting on 9 July 1958. Featuring a bold red, black and white graphic composition with a large illustrated polar bear, the poster is a striking example of 1950s European advertising and circus graphic design . The oversized typography and simple colour palette give it a particularly strong decorative presence.
