It is an understated design … Read more This exceptional wall console was manufactured in the 1960s by Aksel Kjersgaard in Odder, Denmark. It is an understated design in which the beautiful proportions and craftsmanship of Danish furniture design from this period come together perfectly. The long top features softly rounded edges and is supported by a slender wooden structure. A drawer is incorporated beneath the top, becoming an integral part of the design almost seamlessly. The rounded supports and visible wood joints give the console its distinctive character. The back of the piece is originally marked Aksel Kjersgaard, Odder Denmark. Due to its shallow depth, the console takes up little space. It looks beautiful in a hallway or living room, but is also suitable as a compact writing station.

The piece has been fully restored in our workshop. The old finish was removed, after which the teak was carefully sanded by hand and treated with multiple coats of matte furniture oil. This brings out the beautiful warm color and natural grain of the wood once again. The drawer has also been cleaned and adjusted, ensuring it slides smoothly.
