A wonderful antique Regency period blanket chest, made in England and dating from around the 1815-1830 period.
It is of fine quality, it is a functional and very good looking item. It is perfect for use at the end of a bed, in a window bay or even in an entry way as a shoe storage bench. The wood has a gorgeous colour tone and lovely grain patterns, there are high quality detailed ormolu mounts on the front.
We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age. There is just some normal age related patina and marks remaining beneath the polish here and there, commensurate for age.
