This devotional plaster statue depicts christ the king, standing with one hand raised in blessing and the other pointing to the sacred heart. The inscription on the base, “vlys koning in ons huis!” (“christ king in our home!”), reflects a popular flemish catholic domestic devotion that spread through belgium in the early 20th century.
