I … Read more “Sardinelles on Red” is a vibrant still life in which delicate fish are set against an expressive red background. I was interested in the contrast between the cool, silvery tones of the sardines and the warmth and intensity of the surrounding color.

Using watercolor together with colored pencils allowed me to combine transparency and spontaneity with more precise lines and subtle details. The composition is simple, yet the strong color contrast gives the work energy and rhythm.
For me, this painting is about finding beauty in ordinary things.
