Designed to be viewed and used from both sides, this substantial double-sided desk features three graduated frieze drawers above the central kneehole on one side, flanked by two banks of four graduated drawers, while the opposing side is fully finished with paneled storage compartments. The drawers retain their traditional brass bail pulls with circular backplates, complemented by fitted key escutcheons.
The desk is raised on shaped bracket-style feet and exhibits the restrained architectural detailing characteristic of English Georgian furniture. Examination of the drawer construction, secondary woods, joinery, underside, and hardware is consistent with an older period piece, with evidence of appropriate age and historic restoration/repairs.
