Description:
Presenting a magnificent and highly decorative vintage Chinese hardwood chest. Crafted from dense, richly grained Rosewood with a spectacular, warm reddish-brown patina and natural "water" grain, this miniature chest features a classic seven-drawer configuration (two over three over two), making it perfect for storing jewelry, seals, precious stones, or small collectibles.
The most striking feature is the magnificent set of cast brass hardware. The top is fitted with ornate corner mounts and a sturdy carrying handle. Each of the seven drawers is fitted with a beautifully detailed, basket-shaped brass drop pull. The base features a classic carved fretwork apron.
Condition: Excellent condition. The wood is solid with a beautiful natural patina. The drawers slide smoothly. Minor surface wear and slight oxidation to the brass hardware, consistent with age and use. No structural damage. Please refer to all photos for exact condition.
