Description:
Presenting a magnificent and highly collectible vintage Chinese hardwood chest. Crafted from dense, richly grained Huali Rosewood with a spectacular, warm reddish-brown patina, this chest embodies the classic aesthetic of Ming Dynasty furniture—simple, elegant, and functional.
The chest features a classic "two over four" drawer configuration (two small drawers at the top, four larger drawers below), making it perfect for storing jewelry, seals, precious stones, or small collectibles. The front is entirely unadorned, allowing the beautiful natural "ox-hair" grain of the rosewood to take center stage. Each drawer is fitted with a traditional bronze/iron lock plate and drop pull. The sides feature two metal carrying handles.
Condition: Excellent condition. The wood is solid with a beautiful, glowing natural patina. The drawers slide smoothly. Minor surface wear and slight oxidation to the hardware, consistent with age and use. No structural damage. Please refer to all photos for exact condition.
