Bring timeless elegance to your home with this vintage Chinese blue and white porcelain jar.
It features the classic "Cracked Ice and Prunus" (冰梅纹) motif, a traditional pattern where delicate white plum blossoms are set against a deep cobalt blue background that mimics the texture of cracked ice.
The plum blossom, blooming in the harsh winter, symbolizes resilience and perseverance in Chinese culture.
The jar has a pleasing ovoid shape with a matching flat lid, bordered by a delicate floral scroll band near the shoulder.
This versatile piece is perfectly sized for a nightstand, bookshelf, or mantelpiece, and makes an excellent addition to any collection of Asian antiques.
