This rare, matching pair of table lamps was meticulously manufactured in the 1970s by the esteemed luxury lighting studio Hart Associates. High-end statement pieces standing at an impressive console scale of 33 inches, these lamps feature a magnificent, heavily weighted column built from a durable, high-density cast composite resin over a solid vertical structural iron core. Hart Associates achieved a brilliant organic look by casting the lamps from a meticulously sculpted master mold, then applying a proprietary, subtly coarsened plaster-texture finish to beautifully replicate the rustic, fibrous qualities of natural reed.
The weighty composite columns taper toward the neck, where they part gracefully and are cinched tightly with heavy, intersecting burnished brass wire-wound bands that seamlessly cradle a solid brass sphere centerpiece.
A spectacular, highly collectible standout feature of this pair is their original, factory-matched hardback empire shades. Far from ordinary fabric, these shades were custom-engineered by Hart Associates with a rough, stucco-style plaster-crackle texture that beautifully mimics the rugged, organic feel of the bases.
