An elegant early 20th-century Russian-Eastern European hand-cut crystal pedestal compote, dating to the early 1900s. This substantial piece features deeply cut starburst, fan and geometric motifs that capture and refract light beautifully, creating exceptional brilliance from every angle.
The generously proportioned bowl is finished with a delicately scalloped rim and rests upon a tall, architectural pedestal. A diamond-cut collar provides additional texture and visual interest, while the radiating cut decoration of the foot beautifully complements the elaborate pattern of the bowl.
Measuring approximately 10.5" H × 7" W × 4" D, the piece has wonderful presence despite its relatively compact footprint. Its substantial weight and intricate hand-cut decoration reflect the craftsmanship associated with fine Eastern European crystal of the period.
A striking heirloom-quality decorative object for a traditional or collected interior. Beautiful displayed as a centerpiece on a dining table, sideboard or console, and equally suited for use as a fruit compote or small punch/serving bowl.
Details: Early 1900s; Russian-Eastern European; hand-cut leaded crystal glass; deeply cut starburst and fan motifs; diamond-cut pedestal collar; scalloped rim.
Please note: The cut-crystal area immediately beneath the bowl is very sharp. Use care when lifting, carrying or handling the piece.

The crystal retains beautiful clarity and brilliance with light age-appropriate surface wear. There is one very small fleabite-sized chip/nick along the bottom edge of the foot, visible upon close inspection and documented in the photographs. It does not detract from the overall presentation of the piece. As expected with antique hand-cut crystal, minor surface wear and variations associated with hand cutting and finishing are present. Please note: The deeply cut crystal immediately beneath the bowl is exceptionally sharp to the touch. This is characteristic of the deeply cut construction rather than damage. Please use care when lifting or handling the piece. less
