This piece is made of Alpaca which is a type of metal that looks like silver, I have never seen … Read more This piece is made of Alpaca which is a type of metal that looks like silver, I have never seen a tea strainer like this one in any type of metal. The tea strainer sits on a base when not in use and fits over a cup when you need to strain tea. It has a decorative array of embossed flowers around the edge, the straining holes are in the shape of an eight point star and it has a smooth varnished wooden handle.

The strainer, to the outside embossed edge measures 3 1/4 inches in diameter, the inside diameter is 2 1/4 inches, it is about 3 inches high and the width to thee end of the handle is 6 inches. There is a small dent to the inside edge of the boarder.
