Handcrafted with a distinctive flattened circular body, short cylindrical neck and thick rolled rim, the vessel retains the irregularities of its traditional construction. Visible seams, soldering and hand-worked surfaces give the piece a particularly tactile, characterful quality.

The naturally aged silver-toned metal surface has developed a wonderfully timeworn patina, with variations in tone, oxidation, old solder and surface marks throughout. Rather than detracting from the piece, these traces of age give it a strong Wabi-Sabi character and make each side visually interesting.

Originally intended as a utilitarian water vessel, its wonderfully simple rounded silhouette translates beautifully into a contemporary interior. It can be displayed alone as a sculptural object or used as an unusual vase, particularly suited to an eclectic, rustic or minimalist setting.

The flask remains solid and does not currently leak.

Condition:
Good antique condition consistent with considerable age and traditional handmade construction. There are numerous surface irregularities, old soldered seams, dents especially around the neck scratches, oxidation, discolouration and general wear, all forming part of the vessel's distinctive aged character.
