scandinavian mid-century modern coffee or cocktail table in santos rosewood/palisander with handmade ceramic tiles made by artist tue poulsen, denmark.
this unique rectangular coffee table with floral inspired stoneware art tiles is signed "tue" in a corner by the artist.
table frame and sled legs in rosewood.

this type of table with inset tiles became very popular in denmark as they were both beautiful and practical. The tiles made coasters obsolete as warm or moist tableware could be placed directly on the tiles. They were also much easier to clean and maintain.
