While the object itself is Italian, its subject celebrates one of Hollywood's most enduring icons: James Dean. We do not know the exact history or original purpose of this piece, although we believe it may have come from a historic and now-closed jeans store in Rome, together with a vintage poster that we acquired from the same source. This large wall mirror dates to approximately the late 1970s–1980s and features a beautifully preserved screen-printed image of James Dean standing beside a horse on the set of the iconic 1956 drama Giant. The photograph is rendered primarily in black and white, while selected details—including the actor's name and other graphic elements—are highlighted in a vivid yellow. This bold color treatment recalls the striking graphic language of Pop Art and gives the piece a distinctly retro, fashion-oriented aesthetic.
