This is a Louis XIV/Regency style mahogany chest of drawers with a marble top. The inlaid wood chest has 4 drawers and a a slightly rounded front and richly adorned with original chiseled and gilded bronze fittings. Although it has a key that fits into the lock fittings on each drawer, the key does not turn the lock mechanism. Early 20th century. The country of origin - United States, France or England, is unknown.
It is very good overall condition, beautiful patina, and finely preserved bronze fittings. See photo of missing piece of inlay near the top on one side of the chest.
