Vintage set of four high-back dining chairs by Burlington Furniture, United Division, Ronda, North Carolina. Dating to approximately the 1970s, the chairs feature beautifully grained oak frames, tall woven cane backs, gently curved stretchers, and upholstered seats in a rich burgundy and gold paisley brocade.
The unusually tall, slender backs give the chairs a striking profile, while the warm oak and woven cane panels add texture and character. Original Burlington Furniture manufacturer’s tags remain attached beneath 3 of the seats.
The set is in vintage condition with age-appropriate wear to the wood and upholstery. Three chairs have an approximately 19-inch seat height. One chair has a thicker cushion, measuring approximately 20 inches at the seat, and appears to have been modified or reworked at some point. That chair also has a visible stain on the upholstery under certain lighting/angles, and is missing the black molded seat-bottom panel found beneath the other three chairs. Upholstery may have been updated during the 4 chairs’ lifetime.
