Authentic 1960s British mid-century reclining lounge chair from the Guy Rogers "Manhattan" range. Afrormosia teak frame, designed by the Eric Pamphilon / George Fejer design team, circa 1967.
The back reclines to a genuine lounge position, even more comfortable than it looks. Professionally restored before we bought it: frame fully refinished, newly upholstered in a blue woven fabric.
Guy Rogers was the best-known British maker of contemporary upholstered furniture in the 1960s, retailing through Heals of London. The Manhattan range is generally considered their strongest design, heavily influenced by Danish work of the period.
